Kite Festival
On Saturday, May 14th, King's View Academy played host to the second Annual Kite Festival. Despite the gray weather, participants enjoyed a morning kite building workshop facilitated by the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, and then off to the Halifax Commons, where people of all ages, including Mayor Peter Kelly tried their hand at flying kites of all sizes and shapes. Special thanks for the assistance of Joscelyn Bethune from the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck Cape Breton for facilitating the kite workshop, to Bill Wilson for thrilling the crowd with his giant fish kite, to Mayor Peter Kelly for joining the fun, and to Atlantica Hotel for providing accommodation for out out of town guests.
