Overview
“What distinguishes leaders of humanity and guardians of human wisdom, whatever religion, philosophy or creed, is their fearless expression of gentleness and genuineness on behalf of all beings. Wisdom does not belong to any one culture or religion, nor does it come from the East or the West, rather it is a human quality that has existed in many cultures at many times throughout history.”

King’s View Academy occupies a wing of the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts building. Classroom environments are designed to allow individuals to work independently, in small or large groups. The student’s personal learning strategy is “custom designed” to meet individual interests, talents, and abilities. Assessments are used to identify each student’s needs in the area of academic and social skills. Our personal approach helps to nourish, balance and train the intellectual, intuitive and physical faculties of each student, enabling them naturally to develop to their full potential.
KVA provides a strong pre-university program that includes an integrated arts education. The school's staff is specially trained to act as facilitators and coaches guiding the learning process. Integrated thematic projects are the preferred method. Each staff has been trained in the GoldlakeSM Methodology (www.Goldlake.org). As part of the In-Residence Program, acclaimed professionals, visit to explain and present their disciplines. We encourage the young adult to step out into the world beyond the classroom and embody what has been understood.
Based on the student’s individual interests, abilities, and needs they work in ‘real life’ situations within the community and business world that are directly related to their development. Project Management Life Skills are integrated throughout the curriculum from grades 7-12. In this way, learning is presented as a ‘life-long’ process where every situation is regarded as part of the learning process.
Appreciation of challenges, and the discovery that fears are essential stepping stones to discover further confidence is fundamental to KVA education. This provides a sense of journey that does not end with the school day, but continues into every aspect of life.
We endeavor to make the environment and activities at King’s View Academy an expression of genuineness, gentleness and confidence. Our objective is to educate young people through refined culture and custom to wholly interact with and enhance their world. In this way students have the opportunity to become eloquent and knowledgeable citizens of the world - citizens who are able to pursue their individual goals with dignity, style and grace.
