Academic Excellence / Advanced Placement (AP) Program
Academic Excellence
Academic Excellence begins with the creation of the student profile. Assessments are administered primarily in the areas of mathematics and reading comprehension, learning styles, social skills (decorum), self-esteem, and physical fitness. Also included are the student’s special abilities, interests, and talents. An individualized curriculum is created based on the results of the profile, keeping in mind the Department of Education requirements as the foundation. Students are encouraged to progress at their own speed, and additional support is available for enrichment or remediation.
Ninety-five percent of KVA graduates have been accepted to their first choice university and 65% on scholarship. Students take the Standard Achievement Test (SAT) which is recognized internationally, scoring in the 80th and 90th percentiles. KVA students have been accepted to the most prestigious universities world-wide.
Advanced Placement Program
KVA offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Many universities allow students who have completed these courses university credit, and in some instances waive prerequisite courses for certain degree programs. The advantage to the student is the individual support available to help them be successful. It also prepares the student for university level course expectations.
