I like music and the arts, but not as a career option. Is KVA right for me?

Yes. We will form a personal learning strategy that responds to your interests and talents. That will include music and the arts, but will focus on what you need for university and your career.

I’m not an artist or musician. Will I do well at KVA?

Yes. Our aim is to elevate your awareness of the arts. Regardless of how little experience you have in them, you’ll fit in fine.

What is so special about KVA?

Our approach to learning is exceptional. Your teachers work as a team, coordinating themes and content. They promote real-world experience as part of your every day school life. The staff works with you to establish your interests and talents, and design a personal learning strategy for you. Since the learning program is individualized, you progress at your own speed, and the curriculum is designed to mirror your wants and needs.

What happens if I fall behind in a class? What happens if I want to jump ahead?

Your teachers will work together with you to get you back on course if you fall behind for any reason. The same applies for making sure you can advance when you’re ready.

I am half way through high school. Can KVA offer me the credits I need to graduate? Is it possible to enter in mid-year and not lose credits?

Yes. KVA will work with you to ensure you get the Department of Education credits needed for graduation. Since the curriculum is individualized, and you are able to progress at your own speed, this allows flexibility to focus on what is needed and desired. 

Does KVA have an ESL Program?

Yes. An ESL assessment is given to determine the level of support needed.

What is the entrance assessment for?

Since the curriculum is individualized for each student, the assessment provides the staff with a starting point. Learning styles are also assessed at this time. It does not factor into your application scoring for acceptance, unless you score below 5.0 grade level in reading comprehension.

Are there residential opportunities?

Housing can be accomodated, although there is not a residential facility as of yet.

Yes. You can order your KVA uniform online from Beatties.The price range is $250-350. Gym uniforms are ordered directly through KVA.
