  GOLDLAKESM Program - Student Evaluation
 

It must first be said that student evaluation assumes an environment based on gentleness, genuineness, and confidence. Creative leadership skills and self-confidence must be key elements.

The starting point for the creation of the individualized curriculum is derived from the student profile that indicates their interests, talents, and abilities, and emphasizes a guided self-discovery approach.

Student profiles are created from the following:

  • Academic – written, oral and visual assessments
  • Learning style identification
  • Social skills
  • Physical fitness
  • Performing arts – optional
  • Portfolio development

A software tool is used in curriculum development and evaluation to help provide a database for all parties. It is used specifically to:

  • Support the personalization of strategies
  • Identify outcomes from assigned activities
  • Chart progress and competency
  • Support accountability
  • Provide a database of resources and activities
  • Record performance and growth
  • Identify objectives and activities according to theme, category, level of competency, learning style and resources
  • Provide rubrics
  • Accessible for students, staff and parents
